Why Redwood?

The family of Sequoia tree, commonly know as Redwoods, are the largest and oldest trees on earth. These trees naturally occur in Northern California and Oregon. Their maximum life span is 2,200 years and many grow to a height of greater than 106 meters. The theoretical height of a tree, based on gravity and friction between water and the vessels it flows in is between 122 meters and 130 meters. Thus the Redwood has evolved to approach the theoretical maximum for its environment just as Redwood Infotek will strive to evolve your manufacturing operation to maximize yield within an environment of minimized costs.

While the Redwood is native to a fairly small region, they have been successfully introduced to other areas such as New Zealand, Hawaii and the Queen Charlotte Islands. The principals of Redwood Infotek’s very first contract was in providing economic analysis of pacific sport fishing industry for the Government of Canada. We worked from a small research station on Vancouver Island. The grounds of the facility had an extensive horticultural collection including a specimen of the Giant Sequoia tree. While our work there was over 25 years ago, we are certain that that Redwood tree is still there just as you can be certain that Redwood Infotek will define and implement lasting technology solutions for your manufacturing operations.

Towering above all others, taking maximum opportunity from our environment, adaptable to changing conditions, a symbol of strength and longevity, Redwood Infotek, like the Sequoia tree we are proudly named after, provides our clients with all the characteristics of the mighty Redwood tree.

What Makes Us Different?

We work with you as a partner to introduce solutions that will solve your challenges with predictable results and known costs. We are not a consulting company that will apply an army of high priced talent to match your available budget. We’ve been through the lean times and understand the pressure on your budgets. We treat your money as if it was our money. All Redwood consultants make effective decisions recommendations with full understanding of the changes in productivity, product quality and costs to your organization.

All Redwood resources are carefully selected for their combination of experience and common sense. Before coming to Redwood our consultants have to have a long track record in definition and implementation of proven technology in industries and facilities similar to yours. And believe us when we say we’ve seen it all. While your challenges are unique, our history of successful completion of projects gives you the highest probability for a positive outcome with your current initiatives.

We do not make a tour of your plant and retreat to the comfort of our offices to prepare the PowerPoint presentations. We demand the opportunity to work along side your operators, supervisors and managers to insure that we understand, first hand, your challenges. We believe this the best way we can assist you to take advantage of the immediate opportunities for improvement while we also collaborate with you on defining, procuring and implementing optimal solutions that match your needs and budget. While our senior consultants are comfortable in the boardroom, we know you would much rather see them in steel toes on your shop floor.
